Point Michaud Beach is a provincial landmark with nice white sand. It’s only 10-20 minutes away by car.. Its 3 km. length is great for sunbathing, surfing, walking, and swimming.
The beautiful village of St. Peter’s is one of North America’s oldest European settlements, and is also a gateway to the Bras d’Or Lake, the largest saltwater lake on the eastern seaboard. St. Peter’s also brings a beautiful provincial park, shopping areas and a scenic canal to the already stunning panorama of Cape Breton Island.
Numerous local hikes are available — for the more adventurous, hiking on the Red Cape; for those who enjoy a slower pace, walking the miles of undeveloped shoreline. You can also hike along the nearby Bras d’Or Lake.
